I don't add "in my opinion" to everything I say because everything I say is my opinion.  I'm not wasting keystrokes on clarifying to pedants what they should already be able to discern.

  • iPadOS 16.1 now available with Stage Manager and pro-focused features

This first public release version of Stage Manager for iPadOS gives users the ability to place up to four windows on an iPad screen at one time.

Users can make Stage Manager into a complex windowing mess with PiP and Quick Note

It's been a while since I was in school, but counting hasn't changed so much that four now means six, surely?
Given you’re normally very rude, try reading the article again brainbox!
Pay particular attention to: “Users can make Stage Manager into a complex windowing mess with PiP and Quick Note”
    And that makes six windows!

  • Apple's new iCloud website design is beautiful

Interesting.  Not super useful unless Apple opens iCloud for hosted web apps that could do more functional things on the dashboard.  I've almost given up hope on that front though.

  • Gambling App Store ads are showing up next to addiction recovery apps

Nobody in Apple (or any other company involved in advertising) made a decision decided to show gambling ads next to addiction recovery or children's apps .
They made the decision to allow gambling app advertising, and then did not monitor it very closely.

Advertising of gambling has specific regulation in many jurisdictions, so it’s highly improbable that gambling app advertising has not been specifically discussed.  They have massively failed to negotiate this territory if this is the result.

  • iMessage for Android would have stifled innovation, says Craig Federighi

Seems like a very US-centric view of things. As a result, absolutely everybody and their sister in Europe uses WhatsApp for messaging and videocalls, even when they have an iPhone and messaging or calling another iPhone user. Allowing facebook to take over that global mindshare seems like a strategic mistake.
European market doesn’t pay the bills the USA market and China Markets do.
Treating markets like they don’t matter is a surefire way to lose those markets.

  • Apple & Spotify now fighting over audio books

Not a fan of Apple's rent seeking, but this is the exact same situation with Audible, who therefore ask users to go through the website to make purchases.  No idea why Spotify gets the spotlight or expects any difference in treatment.

Aren't Apple allowing links to website stores now?  Or are they just doing that just in some select jurisdictions? I've lost track of it all.
