  • Portless 'iPhone 13' could restore iOS without needing a cable

The first method involves a user putting the iPhone into a manual recovery mode, triggering the Internet Restore broadcast. This is picked up by nearby Macs or a PC with iTunes installed, which will bring up prompts to guide the user through the rest of the restoration.

The second way is for the device itself to enter the mode automatically, again bringing up the same prompts. A third apparently involves using Bluetooth as a "last resort" measure to broadcast the signal and for data transfers.
Completely wireless recovery. What could possibly go wrong?

  • iPhones with Fortnite installed hit eBay with prices as high as $10,000

Won’t it be lost when the phone gets wiped?  Or would someone be stupid enough to sell their phone with their Apple ID still signed in?
Not as stupid as the person who buys the phone and then changes the ID.

  • Apple rebuilding Apple Music in macOS Monterey 12.2 as a full native app

Well, my favorite gripe wasn't fixed. I do a lot of song management in list view and I hate it when I have to constantly invoke the "Filter Field" after every little change. At least give me the option to keep Filter Field persistent or not.

The inclusion of fax is interesting. It is getting to the stage that there is no fax machines to send it to. My father chose this epson because of it, replacing an old canon all in one with a fax. He couldnt tell me when he actually last used that function though.
I agree that a fax is pretty much useless here in USA, but if your business has a number of international contacts, especially third-world types, you may want to have that fax capability.

  • BlackBerry sells mobile patents to patent troll for $600M

I wish all the major manufacturers would chip in to create an independent organization with a fund pool to buy up all these orphan patents to keep them from patent trolls. Ideally, these patents should be placed in the public domain.

  • Apple planning 2022 iPhone SE upgrade, followed by larger screen in 2023

My daughter was hanging on to an original SE for that reason and was planning to upgrade to the 13 Mini until she held both 13 models. She decided that the 13 was not too large after all and went with that. Go figure.
    That's how I got my 12 Mini :)

The SE designation used to mean that the device was somehow special. The original SE was a lot of function in a small package. Since then the following models were bigger, used older tech, and cheaper...not really special. Instead of the above refresh and seeing that the 13 Mini has the same cameras and tech as the 13 but in a smaller package, wouldn't it be more appropriate to call it the 13SE instead of Mini. Personally, I never liked the "Mini" moniker when applied to the iPhone. Implies not only a small size but also less functionality.

I'm sure the new SE will excite me as much as Steve Jobs' introduction of the iPod Hi-Fi   :/ .

Ver Unlikely. It’s a gimmick and pron for damage but add zero or little benefit...
The benefit follows the principle of greater functionality with a smaller size for transporting. Isn't that the basic idea of a cell phone in the first place?

  • Apple's 2023 CarPlay is an Apple Car preview - and is scaring Detroit

Just what we need while driving a car...more bells, whistles, lights, voices, flashing colors, buzzing, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera  :s.  All in the name of "safety". No wonder we need cars that drive themselves :/
